Axis Bank, in collaboration with Google Pay, has announced the launch of the Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card, a UPI-powered, co-branded credit card designed to align with India’s digital-first financial needs.

Built on the RuPay network, the card aims to make credit card usage as simple and widespread as everyday UPI payments, while offering a fully digital and app-integrated experience.

The Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card is the first product under Flex by Google Pay, a new initiative focused on making credit more accessible and easier to manage.

The card allows users to apply digitally within minutes, transact across millions of offline merchants and online platforms, and manage rewards and repayments directly through the Google Pay app.

With Flex by Google Pay, users can apply for the card without physical paperwork and begin using it almost instantly.

Transactions made using the Google Pay Flex Axis Bank Credit Card earn reward points, known as Stars, which can be redeemed instantly on subsequent Flex transactions. Each Star holds a value of ₹1, enabling real-time benefits from everyday spending.

The card also offers flexible repayment options, allowing users to track spending, pay bills in full, or convert outstanding balances into EMIs directly within the Google Pay app. This provides users with enhanced control, transparency, and financial flexibility.

Speaking on the launch, Arnika Dixit, President & Head – Cards, Payments and Wealth Management, Axis Bank, said that the partnership builds on Axis Bank’s leadership in digital payments and UPI, combining its financial expertise with Google Pay’s technology to deliver instant rewards, flexible repayments, and a seamless user experience tailored for modern Indian consumers.

Sharath Bulusu, Senior Director – Product Management, Google Pay, highlighted that while digital payments are widespread in India, transactional credit remains underpenetrated.

He noted that Flex by Google Pay is designed to bridge this gap by reimagining the credit card experience and making it more intuitive for the next generation of users.
